A 4-star campsite between Fouesnant and Concarneau

Camping Les Saules is a family-run, 4-star Breton campsite in La Forêt-Fouesnant, Finistère. You’ll love our restaurant with its shaded outdoor terrace next to the heated swimming pool. Our geographical position is a real asset: we offer direct access to the beach, which makes all the difference for a successful vacation in southern Finistère.

We offer a combination of large pitches bordered by hedges, modern mobile homes for 4 to 8 people, and two apartments. The campsite is open from April to September, the ideal time to enjoy the Breton coastline.

The advantage of direct beach access

In this very touristy region of Finistère, many campsites are set back from the coast, forcing you to take the car or walk several hundred meters to reach the sea. With us, the situation is different: the lower part of our seaside campsite in Fouesnant is directly adjacent to Kerleven beach, one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in southern Finistère. Children love this proximity, which means they can come and go freely between the campsite and the beach.

Once you’ve settled in at the campsite, you can walk down to the beach for a swim or take a stroll along the coastal path to explore the small, sometimes discreet, coves. Enjoy the seaside at any time of day, from sunrise to sunset, with the soothing sound of the waves. Some of our pitches even offer a direct ocean view, a rare feature in the region.

Kerleven beach: a family beach at the foot of the campsite

Kerleven beach is La Forêt-Fouesnant’s main beach. It’s well-suited to bathing and supervised in summer, and is largely sheltered from westerly winds. The slope is very gentle, so that even the youngest children can have fun in the water without quickly losing their footing. The transparent water makes it easy to observe marine life, a spectacle that fascinates young and old alike.

When the tide goes out, it’s possible to walk along the rocks and dive into secret nooks and crannies. New bathing areas then appear, and you can swim or kayak without too much physical effort.

On a clear day, you’ll be able to see the Glénan archipelago in the distance, recognizable by its turquoise waters. In summer, boat shuttles departing from Port-la-Forêt can take you there for the day. The embarkation point is a 20-minute walk from the campsite, or 5 minutes by car.

Stay in the heart of South Finistère

Our campsite is an ideal base from which to explore the region. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a lover of Breton culture, or just want to get together with the family, our seaside location offers a convenient base for exploring South Finistère.

Discover Fouesnant and the surrounding area

Once you’ve arrived at Les Saules campsite, you’ll be just a few minutes from the town of Concarneau, a pretty fortified city that’s very lively in summer. Strolls through the old cobbled streets and along the quays of the port are well worth the detour. Concarneau also offers a wide choice of seafood restaurants and craft shops.

To the west, you can reach Port-la-Forêt, the famous training center for skippers who sail around the world. Just a few minutes away are the seaside resorts of Fouesnant and Bénodet, also popular with holidaymakers. In August, you can enjoy free concerts on the Butte du Fort in Bénodet. There are numerous restaurants facing the river Odet, as well as a casino.

Explore Brittany from your accommodation

From your accommodation, you can easily explore the Bigouden and Quimper regions, and visit Pont-Aven, Névez or Locronan, all less than an hour away by car. Our campsite close to Beg-Meil also offers easy access to this wild tip popular with hikers, while Cap Coz and its long white sandy beaches are just a few kilometers away.

Whether you prefer to enjoy the beach alone or discover places off the beaten track, Southern Brittany has it all. For all our ideas for family outings and visits near the campsite, see our page on tourism in Fouesnant.
