Port-La-Forêt is first and foremost a major marina in the Bay of La Forêt, nationally renowned as a mecca for ocean racing (skippers, IMOCA, Figaro) and an excellent starting point for exploring Fouesnant and theGlénan archipelago.
The Pôle Finistère Course au Large
The Pôle Finistère Course au Large training center is an emblematic place where skippers and racing projects come together.
To understand this “ocean racing” atmosphere, every summer you can attend the start of the Tour du Finistère à la Voile, an event that each year brings together around a hundred boats from 7 to 16 meters to race for a week around Finistère in a competitive but friendly spirit. The next edition will take place from July 27 to August 1, 2026.
A must: the Glénan archipelago
From Port-La-Forêt, there are seasonal sea links to Les Glénan (depending on the season).
It’s a typical day trip: white sand, clear water, islets, lagoons, walks and a change of scenery.
Nature walks: the coastal path (GR®34) and La Forêt bay
Port-Laf’ is a very pleasant place to walk: you’re in the La Forêt bay area and right next to the GR®34 (customs trail), which offers panoramic views of the sea and sheltered coves.

To take full advantage of Port-La-Forêt’s maritime atmosphere, don’t miss the night market. It takes place every Tuesday from July 8 to August 12, from 6pm to 10pm. Located just 2 km from Les Saules, it’s a lovely evening stroll with a breathtaking view of the boats. You’ll find local products, crafts and food, all in a friendly maritime atmosphere.
