It contains several treasures, the most famous of which is the yellow Christ which inspired the famous painting by Paul Gauguin. Now housed at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, USA, it is a major work of <a href=\"http:\/\/art-deco.france.pagesperso-orange.fr\/peintres_pont_aven.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"symbolisme (opens in a new tab)\">Symbolism<\/a>.<br \/>\nThere is an exhibition of ten panels tracing the painter&#8217;s art and life.<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;re not very sporty, or have young children in tow, you can also drive to the chapel. On leaving the chapel, you can take a few steps in the beech alley to enjoy the surrounding nature.<br \/>\nThe chapel is open daily from 10am to 5pm from October to June and<br \/>\nfrom 10am to 6pm from July to September.<\/p>\n<h3>The marina<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s impossible to go to Pont Aven without strolling along its charming marina, perfect for a little digestive walk after the meal! This commented cruise will allow you to discover the incredible maritime past of this river while admiring the landscape and the changing lights over the water.<\/p>\n<h3>The walk of Xavier Grall<\/h3>\n<p>Named after a Breton poet, the promenade<a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Xavier_Grall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Xavier Grall,<\/a> is a short walk of 10-15min which invites you to stroll along the water&#8217;s edge and allows you to admire pretty views over the Aven. It is a place accessible to strollers and wheelchairs, ideal for taking beautiful photos.<\/p>\n<h2>The Gorse Flower Festival<\/h2>\n<p>Brittany&#8217;s oldest folk festival takes place every year from August 1 to 3. Come and admire the traditional costumes and take part in a Fest Noz!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family: Montserrat, sans-serif;\">For a day of games with the children<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avenparc.com\/\">Aven Parc<\/a> is a must-see place for children in the region.
