This family-friendly seaside resort combines fine sandy beaches, calm waters and a variety of activities in an unspoilt natural setting.

Why we love Cap Coz (and why you will too)

Its privileged location makes it a sheltered headland at the head of the bay of La Forêt-Fouesnant, and this is what particularly appeals to holidaymakers:

A sandy beach with a gentle slope.

Waters protected from prevailing winds.

South-facing.

The Blue Flag, a guarantee of bathing water quality

The main beach stretches over 4 km of white sand. Even in the middle of August, you’re sure to find your own quiet spot. It is supervised in July and August, and accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Our favorite: sunrises

If you’re an early riser, treat yourself to a sunrise over the bay of Cap Coz. It’s a sight we never tire of contemplating: the first rays gradually illuminate the water, the boats are reflected on the calm sea, and you enjoy the almost deserted beach. A magical moment before everyone else arrives.

Nautical activities

Cap Coz is reputed to be “the cradle of water sports” in South Finistère, and frankly, it’s no exaggeration. Its sheltered waters make it an ideal playground for all levels.

The Cap Coz nautical center offers :

Equipment rental: windsurfers, dinghies, catamarans, kayaks and paddles

Lessons and courses: beginners or advanced with qualified instructors (very friendly, we know them well).

Supervised walks: discover the bay in complete safety

As you may already know, the campsite also offers kayak and paddle rentals, so you can explore the coast at your own pace, right from our Kerleven beach.

Fishing on foot: an activity children love

Cap Coz is a favorite spot for shore fishing. At low tide, the foreshore reveals its treasures: periwinkles, clams, shrimps and crabs hide under the rocks and in the sand. It’s the perfect activity to keep the whole family busy for a few hours.

Our advices :

Drop in at reception, we have the tide times (favour coefficients above 70).

Respect minimum catch sizes and quotas (we have practical information sheets).

Take a bucket for your harvest and put the stones back in place.

Ask us about any health restrictions in force at the time.

Hiking on the GR34

The famous customs trail (GR34 ) crosses Cap Coz and offers unmissable panoramic views.

Our two favourite walks from Cap Coz

Towards Beg-Meil (4 km – 1h30): This walk along the landscaped corniche takes you from cove to cove to Beg-Meil. Along the way, you’ll discover the sublime Bot Conan beach, nestled in its own green setting. We’ve listed all Beg-Meil’s beaches here to help you find them.

Towards Anse de Penfoulic (2 km – 45 min): Shorter but just as beautiful, this walk takes you through a preserved natural area with birdwatching trails. Perfect when you want to alternate between beach and nature in the same day.

Do you prefer cycling? We offer bike hire so you can discover Fouesnant and the surrounding area on the well-maintained cycle paths. Cap Coz is around 5 km from the campsite, a leisurely 15-minute bike ride.

Excursion to Les Glénan: a must-see!

From Cap Coz, you can look out over theGlénan archipelago, with its turquoise waters reminiscent of tropical lagoons. You’ll enjoy the best time of day with far fewer people. But if you’re looking for a more intimate atmosphere, we highly recommend the small coves on the path to Beg-Meil, particularly Bot Conan, which is absolutely sublime.

Is it safe to swim at Cap Coz with small children?

Absolutely, and that’s precisely why we recommend it to young parents. The gentle slope and sheltered waters make Cap Coz one of Finistère’s safest beaches for toddlers. With summer supervision, you can really relax.

How long does it take to do the trail from Cap Coz to Beg-Meil?

Allow around 1h30 for 4 km if you take a leisurely walk and enjoy the views. But allow more if you want to take swimming breaks in the creeks (which we highly recommend). With children, it can easily take 2h30-3h.

Parking at Cap Coz

There are several parking lots close to the main beach, which charge in summer. Our advice: arrive before 10 a.m. in July and August to find a space easily. Or come in the late afternoon when people start leaving.

Is Cap Coz accessible by bike from the campsite?

Yes, and it’s really pleasant. Just 5 km from the campsite, Cap Coz is easily reached by bike in around 15 minutes via little-used back roads. We offer bikes suitable for the whole family, with baby seats if required.

When is the best time to see the Glénan from Cap Coz?

On a clear day, you can see the Glénan all year round from the beach, and it’s truly magnificent. To visit them, the season runs from April to September. We recommend June (less crowded) or July-August if you want the warmest water. But honestly, September is superb too.

Cap Coz awaits you for a vacation where you can really get away from it all. Nature, idleness, activities… you’ll find your own rhythm. And from Camping Les Saules, you’ll have easy access to all the wonders of South Finistère.

Any questions? Call us on 02 98 56 98 57 to plan your stay.
