Quimper (Town of art and history)
From Breton Kemper meaning "Confluence" for the town was built on the crossing of Steir and Odet rivers forming an estuary 16 km from the ocean.. Quimper was the capital of Cornouaille. The first bishop was St-Corentin and he was dedicated the gorgeous gothic cathedral built in the 13th and 15th century..In1790, the town became the administrative center of finistère. It is also the crossroads of famous seaside resorts of the coast.

Famous by its picturesque city, the enclosed town was built on a granite rampart fortified small island built in the14th century and then by Vauban. Concarneau is also an important fishing-port. It is also a famous seaside resort with mild weather. The picturesque festival of "Filets bleus" has been celebrated since 1905 on the third Sunday of August.
